As an Engineering Team Lead at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, you'll serve as a go‑to resource for the engineering team - helping coordinate daily work, supporting team members, and ensuring maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to Hyatt standards.

This hands-on role blends advanced maintenance skills with on‑the‑floor leadership. You'll help guide workflow, provide coaching and support, and step in as needed to keep operations running smoothly - all while leading by example. What You'll Do

• Help coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance tasks across the engineering team
• Coordinate and drive preventative maintenance to completion
• Support team workflow by assigning tasks as directed and tracking progress to completion
• Perform advanced maintenance and repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
• Step in to assist with hands‑on work to ensure timely and high‑quality results
• Act as a resource and mentor to team members, providing guidance and on‑the‑job coaching
• Partner closely with housekeeping and front office to align on room readiness and guest needs
• Conduct walkthroughs of guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas to identify issues
• Help ensure work orders are completed accurately and efficiently
• Promote safety standards and proper maintenance practices
• Communicate updates, challenges, and priorities effectively with leadership and the team
• Identify opportunities for preventative maintenance and operational improvements

Qualifications

• Strong background in general maintenance or building engineering (multi‑trade skills)
• Proven ability to lead by example and support team members in a hands‑on environment
• Experience helping coordinate work, prioritize tasks, and follow up on completion
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
