Engineering Manager
Location: Wendell, NC
Our client is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team focused on UL508A subset panel applications. Responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end engineering package development for Protection & Automation panels (UL508A subset), translating customer PDFs/schematics into complete manufacturing deliverables (BOMs, drawings, wiring documentation, routings/work instructions) that enable right-first-time builds
- Establish and scale 3D digital twin standards for panel mechanical/electrical integration, ensuring designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and consistent across projects
- Enable wire-length automation outputs (cut lists, routing assumptions, harness/wire documentation) to reduce shop-floor ambiguity and improve labor predictability
- Own part library governance - attributes, approved alternates, footprints/models, naming conventions, revision control, and standardization strategy - to improve design reuse and supply-chain resilience
- Build best-in-class engineering processes and training, including onboarding paths, design reviews, standard work, checklists, and continuous improvement loops with manufacturing and quality
- Develop and coach a high-performing team through prioritization, workload management, technical mentorship, and cross-functional escalation, while maintaining hands-on technical credibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or closely related)
- 5+ years in panel/equipment engineering or a closely related manufacturing engineering environment
- 2+ years of people leadership
- Proficiency with CAD tools
- Siemens NX and TeamCenter experience for digital twin workflows
Preferred:
- Familiarity with UL 508A requirements as applied to industrial control/panel builds
- Exposure to digital twin/model based practices
