You will collaborate with others to identify and develop innovative services or processes that address current and future customer needs and recommend improvements. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver presentations to leaders and may supervise team members in their work. As a subject matter expert in Power Engineering, you will provide technical leadership in engineering designs and maintenance as well as reliability best practices for electrical equipment across the company. You will provide internal power engineering support for Project Execution and Technical Services. You will interpret industry best practices, standards, and regulatory codes, and provide assessments, strategies, and recommendations for all adoptions.Responsibilities and ExpectationsPerform sophisticated technical tasks and lead teams in projects of major scope and complexityParticipate in the development and implementation of technical standards and specifications (e.g., electrical area classification, grounding design)Interpret technological aspects of business and coordinate with leaders to ensure successPrepare and deliver presentationsApply expertise, knowledge and experience from projects that positively impact earningsCollaborate with others to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needsHandle resource requirements for projectsLead initiatives to enhance electrical system reliability through comprehensive root cause analysis, PM optimization, and advanced system studies (e.g., arc flash, load flow, coordination)Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, DOT, and company safety policiesOversee the evaluation of engineering packages to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and project objectivesDiagnose complex electrical issues in various systems and equipment, providing expert guidance and training to field support engineersDesign and implement robust preventative maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipmentConduct in‑depth power system analyses, including short‑circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard, harmonics, voltage drop, load flow, transient motor start, and power factor correction studiesOther duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceRequired: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; a minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industryOther RequirementsAble to work on engineering specialties covering more than one subject areaDemonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and prioritizes safetyProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skillsStrong theoretical understanding of power system analysis for low- and medium‑voltage applicationsExperience with power system analysis including short‑circuit, coordination, and arc‑flash hazard analysisProficient with engineering tools: SKM Power Systems, ETAP, GE Multilin, SEL Relay SoftwareKnowledge of applicable codes and standards (API, IEEE, NESC, NEC, NFPA)Experience designing layout and spacing, specifying equipment, performing grounding studies, and performing protection and coordination studies is strongly preferredProficiency in engineering specialties covering more than one subject areaPreferred: P.E.
