We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials/Weld Engineer to join our EMS group located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews raw material certifications for conformance to purchase order, engineering drawing and specification requirements
Reviews engineering drawings for correct materials and processes notes
May participate in hands-on metallurgical laboratory work
Reviews engineering drawings for correct weld symbol and code application requirements
Reviews and approves supplier weld documentation for correctness to purchase order requirements
Resolves issues and nonconformance's related to welding discrepancies.
Performs on-site supplier audits to ensure materials, processes or welding requirements are in conformance with purchase order requirements
Performs weld requirements and process training to GA welders and other staff within the company, such as the Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Design Engineering organizations
Reviews and approves welding operations for GA welded fabrication work instructions and routers
Writes technical documentation (i.e. specifications, test reports, lab reports) and makes technical presentations as required
May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects
May work on materials, processes, welding and additive manufacturing research and development activities
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
