Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Engine Test Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate is responsible for planning and executing engine testing activities to validate combustion performance, mechanical functionality, and durability requirements.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engine Test Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and execute engine test plans to validate combustion performance, mechanical functionality, fuel efficiency, and durability requirements.

  • Perform engine dynamometer testing, calibration development, and data collection to support engine performance and product validation activities.

  • Analyze combustion and engine performance data using engineering tools and instrumentation to identify trends and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to plan, execute, and review testing activities supporting engine development programs.

  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and test summaries to communicate results, observations, and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Support engine controls, calibration optimization, and durability testing initiatives to ensure compliance with performance and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 2-5+ years of experience in engine development, combustion testing, calibration development, engine validation, or powertrain engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with engine dynamometer testing, engine instrumentation, combustion analysis, data acquisition, and engine performance validation.

  • Strong knowledge of engine controls, calibration development, data analysis tools, durability testing, and internal combustion engine operation and performance optimization.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
