Akkodis is seeking an Engine Test Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate is responsible for planning and executing engine testing activities to validate combustion performance, mechanical functionality, and durability requirements.
Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Engine Test Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and execute engine test plans to validate combustion performance, mechanical functionality, fuel efficiency, and durability requirements.
Perform engine dynamometer testing, calibration development, and data collection to support engine performance and product validation activities.
Analyze combustion and engine performance data using engineering tools and instrumentation to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to plan, execute, and review testing activities supporting engine development programs.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and test summaries to communicate results, observations, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Support engine controls, calibration optimization, and durability testing initiatives to ensure compliance with performance and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
2-5+ years of experience in engine development, combustion testing, calibration development, engine validation, or powertrain engineering.
Hands-on experience with engine dynamometer testing, engine instrumentation, combustion analysis, data acquisition, and engine performance validation.
Strong knowledge of engine controls, calibration development, data analysis tools, durability testing, and internal combustion engine operation and performance optimization.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
