A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney to join its Minneapolis office.
This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing energy companies, utilities, developers, investors, and other industry participants in sophisticated energy regulatory and transactional matters.
• 5–10 years of energy transactional and regulatory experience
• Experience advising clients on energy transactions, regulatory matters, and project development issues
• Experience representing utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy developers, investors, or other energy industry participants preferred
• Experience with power purchase agreements, project development agreements, transmission matters, interconnection issues, or other energy-related transactions preferred
• Experience advising clients regarding federal and state energy regulatory frameworks, including matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state utility commissions, is a plus
• Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage complex matters while working directly with clients
• Excellent academic credentials
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• Minnesota bar admission required or ability to become admitted
