Reports to: MH Employment Program Manager
Location: Onondaga and Oswego County
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30a-4:30p
Pay Rate: $19.23 - $20.92 Hourly

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive employee to place, train, stabilize, and rehabilitate people with disabilities in competitive supportive employment.
Responsibilities include:
- Accept referrals from ACCESS-VR/CBVH/OPWDD (funding sources)
- Evaluate participants’ employment interests, skills and potential utilizing the personal portfolio method.
- Identify the employers’ and the employees’ needs at the job site
- Collaborate with employer/manager/trainer to assess participant training needs
- Work with employers to identify jobs suitable for participants
- Provide 28 hours of billable services per week; rehabilitate four-six individuals each year
- Identify adaptive equipment/assistive technology that can assist participants to perform jobs at expected levels
- Identify and nurture natural co-worker/family/agency supports that can facilitate success
- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, human resource groups, and employment networks
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma/GED, plus four years’ experience working with people with disabilities, or, associate degree, plus two years’ experience working with people with disabilities in order to secure competitive employment, or bachelor's degree in a human services field, required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic word processing and email skills required.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
