A highly respected national law firm is seeking an Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Minneapolis office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising employers, financial institutions, and corporate clients on sophisticated employee benefits, executive compensation, and ERISA matters.

Ideal Background

3+ years of employee benefits, executive compensation, or ERISA experience gained in a law firm, consulting firm, or in-house legal department

• Experience advising clients regarding qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, ESOPs, health and welfare plans, and deferred compensation arrangements

• Experience with ERISA, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), HIPAA, Internal Revenue Code Section 409A, and related employee benefits regulations

• Experience counseling employers regarding employee benefits compliance, plan administration, and executive compensation matters

• Experience supporting corporate transactions and advising on employee benefits issues arising in M&A transactions is a plus

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys across employment, corporate finance, financial institutions, and business practice groups

• Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and the ability to manage a sophisticated and fast-paced workload

• A background or degree in tax, finance, or business is preferred

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

Minnesota bar admission required or ability to become admitted
