Our client is seeking an Employee Benefits / ERISA Attorney with 2-10 years of experience to join its established and growing practice. This is a unique succession-planning opportunity offering direct mentorship, an established client base, and a long-term path to practice leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise clients on ERISA compliance and fiduciary responsibilities
- Draft and amend ESOP, 401(k), and profit-sharing plan documents
- Support plan design, implementation, and compliance matters
- Assist with plan corrections and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Participate in M&A due diligence related to employee benefit plans
- Develop long-term client relationships
QUALIFICATIONS:
- JD required with active Bar membership or ability to become licensed in Iowa
- 2-10 years of legal experience
- Interest in ERISA, employee benefits, or retirement plan work
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Outgoing, relationship-oriented personality
PREFERRED:
- Direct ERISA, ESOP, or retirement plan experience
- M&A benefits due diligence experience
- BigLaw or specialized benefits practice background
