JOB SUMMARY:

Electronic Security Technician II who will install, service, and support enterprise security systems across the Johns Hopkins enterprise and public safety operations. The position focuses on access control, video surveillance (CCTV/VMS), intrusion detection, intercom,Weapons Detection, Visitor Management, Elopement, Infant Protection and panic alarm systems, and the associated software platforms and IT integrations. The technician II works independently in the field, collaborates closely with IT/network teams, reads and interprets wiring diagrams and system schematics, and performs preventive maintenance, firmware updates, and database upkeep. Responsibilities include end to end system health checks-verifying video retention and playback quality, ensuring current firmware and licenses, and maintaining accurate records of service, configuration baselines, and asset changes. The ideal candidate brings hands on low voltage and structured cabling expertise, practical knowledge of door hardware (including troubleshooting access control interfaces to automatic doors ,maglocks, electric strikes, door closers, push bars, and request to exit devices), and proficiency with multi-site/enterprise access control platforms and network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs, PoE).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Required)
• Minimum 2 Years of Experience in electronic security, low voltage cabling, IT support, or related field; OR equivalent technical training through trade school, military service, or ccertifications (Required)
• Drivers License 10000193 Upon Hire (Required)
• Low voltage/security installer license (if required by state regulations). Upon Hire (Required)
• Ability to pass background checks as required by clients and policy. Upon Hire (Required)
• Navigate rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Completes basic to moderately complex business support assignments; work involves minimal problem resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and self-directed to consistently ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Uphold ethical principles by maintaining confidentiality, ensuring informed consent, and making decisions that prioritize the well-being of both patients and staff.
• Work seamlessly within diverse teams, bringing together professionals from various disciplines to provide patient-centered care and achieve collective goals.
• Ensures the implementation of company policies in their daily tasks, identifies potential risks in their scope of work, and reports any breakdown in controls to the supervisor.
• Makes decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices, requiring some interpretation.
• Solves basic to moderately complex administrative and operational challenges.
• Proficient knowledge; performs standardized, assigned duties and tasks in Information Technology.
• Performs work thoroughly in a cost-efficient manner and at a high productivity level.
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Salary Range: Minimum $30.53/hour - Maximum $53.44/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
