PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will provide hands-on technical support to engineering teams through electrical fabrication, soldering, cable and harness assembly, technical documentation, data collection, and test support.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in an electronics fabrication, cable and harness, SMT board fabrication, or military product maintenance environment.
- 3+ years of experience with soldering and harness fabrication to MIL-STD requirements.
- 3+ years of experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.
- Experience communicating technical, design, and process issues to engineers and management.
- 3+ years of experience using software tools and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, schematics, drawings, and technical data.
- Experience gathering, formatting, maintaining, and documenting technical or test data.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and other technical personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established technical processes.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Skills
- J-STD-001 solder certification.
- IPC-7711/IPC-7721 certification or experience.
- Experience with cable and wire-harness fabrication.
- SMT board fabrication experience.
- Experience maintaining or supporting military-design hardware.
- Experience with procurement or acquisition of test materials.
- Experience interpreting and building test equipment from engineering documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering and fabrication tasks.
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate engineering and test data.
- Support documentation of laboratory results, material-test data, and engineering changes.
- Produce technical documentation, reports, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics.
- Fabricate electrical hardware from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical guides.
- Perform soldering, cable, harness, and related electronics fabrication activities.
- Conduct tests and record data to support engineering evaluations and analyses.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and preliminary technical-data analysis using established methods.
- Communicate fabrication, design, and process issues to engineers and management.
- Support test-equipment build and material procurement activities as needed.
