Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

In this mixed technical/leadership position, you will sit at the intersection of hands-on engineering and people management. Your typical day blends deep dive engineering work with strategic team oversight:

• Lead the development of critical electronics-from high level architecture and schematic capture to board layout, prototype fabrication, and flight hardware integration. You will personally review critical designs, approve key trade offs, and ensure that design meets program requirements.
• Manage a high performing group of electronics engineers (10-12 people). Conduct regular 1:1s, set clear performance goals, provide technical coaching, and be a support to enable the team to perform at their best.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between the electronics team and other functional groups such as software, mechanical, propulsion, and launch operations.
• Mentorship opportunity - work closely with the EE Manager to learn and gain knowledge that will help you become a more impactful leader.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Lead and perform electronics design, analysis, and/or test efforts as part of the technical role.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early by conducting trade studies, risk assessments, and implementing mitigation plans that are communicated to program leadership.
• Mentor and manage the electronics engineering team through performance reviews, recognitions, and consistent engagements.
• Report status and performance metrics to senior leadership, delivering clear, data driven updates on schedule, cost, technical health, and team productivity.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

• Strong technical background - 8+ years of electronics engineering experience with a proven record of designing flight hardware.
• Leadership & people management skills - experience supervising engineers or leading a team as a CPE or RSE.
• Program level understanding - familiarity with aerospace program life cycles and schedule risk management.
• Excellent communication - skilled in written documentation and oral presentations.
• Mentorship orientation - commitment to coaching junior staff, promoting a collaborative culture, and encouraging knowledge sharing.

Manages the research, design, development, and testing of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Experience in testing and integration of complex electronics systems
• Experience with design of digital or analog circuits
• Recent formal/informal leadership experience
• Full Spectrum Leadership behavior, attitude, and perspective
• Holds an active Secret clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
