Electrical Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid: On-site with remote Wednesdays & Fridays)

Position Overview
Seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. The ideal candidate will bring 4+ years of recent experience supporting industrial or utility-focused projects and will play a key role in designing, managing, and delivering electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage power distribution projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Serve as the primary technical expert and main point of contact for clients on assigned projects.
Coordinate effectively with internal teams, external consultants, and subcontractors.
Perform electrical system planning, design, and analysis, including preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
Provide construction-phase support, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and field issue resolution.
Design and develop systems including:
Power distribution (low- and medium-voltage)
Controls, instrumentation, and communications
Lighting, security, fire alarm, SCADA, and data systems
Execute designs for a wide range of infrastructure and industrial applications, including:
Overhead-to-underground conversions
Renewable energy and PV systems
Generators and EV charging systems
Pump stations, switching stations, BESS, and microgrids
Perform engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and grounding studies.
Review and approve shop drawings and product submittals.
Conduct site visits, inspections, field surveys, and develop punch lists.
Apply applicable codes and standards including NEC/CEC, NFPA, Title 24, and LEED.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
Minimum 4+ years of experience with an MEP or consulting engineering firm.
EIT certification or ability to pass the FE exam within the probationary period.
Experience with electrical design for repair, new construction, rehabilitation, and utility installations.
Proficiency in design and analysis tools, including:
AutoCAD
Bluebeam Revu
SKM Power Tools
Microsoft Office Suite
Lighting calculation software
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
