Position Summary
Forge Nano Inc. is a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets. Forge Nano is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join their Engineering Design and Manufacturing Team. The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support of electrical systems for semiconductor equipment and related automation platforms. This role contributes to system architecture, supports product development, and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1) Electrical System Design & Development
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, Industrial control panels, and wiring architecture
- Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, and electrical drawings (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
- Select components such as sensors, motors, drives, PLCs, and safety systems
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (UL, CE, SEMI where applicable)
2) Control Systems Integration
- Control panels, low-voltage instrumentation, and power electrical distribution design is required.
- Support PLC and motion control integration (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Interface with software/controls engineers for system functionality and debugging
- Validate I/O mapping and system communication (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)
3) System Bring-Up & Validation
- Support system commissioning, debug, and validation
- Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues
- Conduct electrical testing, verification, and failure analysis
4) Product Development Support
- Participate in new product development and sustaining engineering efforts
- Identify design improvements for performance, cost, and reliability
- Support design reviews and risk assessments (FMEA, design validation)
5) Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Mechanical engineering (integration + packaging)
- Process engineering (tool requirements and constraints)
- Manufacturing (build and assembly support)
- Field service (issue resolution and feedback loop)
6) Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control
- Support generation of technical documentation for installation and service
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical design, controls, or system integration
- Electrical schematics and panel design
- PLC-based control systems
- Industrial sensors, actuators, and power systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Work Environment
This is an on-site role. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel-toed shoes, lab coat, and around certain equipment, a hard hat. Compensation/Benefits
• $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 Depending on qualifications
