Electrical Engineer- Combustion Turbine Projects

Experience supporting combustion turbine construction, design engineering, plant electrical systems, EPC contractors, commissioning, startup, or owner's engineer activities. Job Title: Electrical Engineer- Combustion Turbine Projects
Location: Denver, Colorado
Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $76/hr
Work Model: Hybrid, with onsite presence required based on project needs. Per diem available for qualified candidates traveling from outside the area.
Per diem offered for non-local candidates

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve electrical RFIs, technical questions, and contractor submittals.
• Provide electrical engineering oversight during combustion turbine installation and construction activities.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, engineering studies, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot field installation issues, design conflicts, and electrical engineering challenges.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, construction managers, inspectors, project controls, and internal engineering teams.
• Ensure construction activities align with approved engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Support commissioning and startup activities as the projects progress into the next phase.
• Serve as an electrical technical lead for project-related engineering matters.
• Provide technical support and engineering guidance throughout construction and project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; ABET-accredited degree preferred.
• Approximately 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated combustion turbine experience is required. Candidates must clearly show turbine-related experience on their resume.
• Experience supporting combustion turbine construction, design engineering, plant electrical systems, EPC contractors, commissioning, startup, or owner's engineer activities.
• Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience resolving field installation issues and engineering/design conflicts.
• Ability to work independently and contribute quickly in an active construction environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with GE combustion turbine technology; Siemens turbine experience is also highly transferable.
• Experience with utility companies, power generation facilities, EPC firms, or engineering design organizations.
• Experience with commissioning and startup of power generation facilities.
• Experience with ProjectWise, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SAP.
