    JOB SUMMARY

    The Electronic Health Records (EHR) department is integral to our operations, ensuring that all electronic health record systems function optimally and that all users receive the necessary training and support. As a fast-paced, service-oriented department, we aim to empower all programs in delivering the best possible client services.

    The EHR Billing Specialist I is responsible for working with the rest of the EHR Billing Team and the Fiscal Department to support billing processes and data management. This position will take lead in problem-solving around reconciliation and billing issues in the electronic health records (EHR) billing system. Key responsibilities include data entry from Welligent to the County systems, running billing reports to support reconciliation and acting as a support agent for the help desk. The EHR Billing Specialist I will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our billing processes, contributing to the financial health and operational effectiveness of the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Billing:

    • Data Entry: Perform data entry from Welligent to the County systems to ensure accurate and timely billing.
    • Billing Reports: Run billing reports to support the reconciliation process, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
    • Help Desk Support: Act as a support agent for the help desk, addressing and resolving billing inquiries and issues.
    • Communication and Cooperation: Communicate and cooperate with EHR and fiscal teams to troubleshoot reconciliation and billing errors.
    • Meetings: Attend and participate in department, inter-team, and agency meetings as appropriate.
    • Miscellaneous: Other duties as assigned

    Process:

    • Problem-Solving Skills: Utilize problem-solving skills to create more efficient, stable systems for setting up, monitoring, and rectifying EHR billing.
    • Implementations: Assist the Lead EHR Billing Analyst and the Billing Manager in implementing billing systems for new programs or funding streams.

    • Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with fiscal and clinical leadership.
    • Agency Philosophy and Mission: Incorporate agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job performance.
    • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, families, and operations of the agency in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
    • Judgment: Exercise good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Experience, or Certification

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Desired:

    • Some experience working in EHR (Welligent and/or other County systems).
    • Some college or AS/AA or BS/BA Degree.
    • Comfort in extended Microsoft ecosystem (Office 365).
    • Previous non-profit behavioral/mental healthcare agency experience.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA and CFR 42 preferred.
    • Some understanding of electronic billing systems and EHR operations
