About the Position
The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking to employ an Education Program Manager in the office of Child Nutrition. Serve as the director of the Child Nutrition Statewide Purchasing System. Fifth-level Supervisory Position accountable for the coordination and administration of the academic and vocational programs at a state institution. Positions at this level may also be accountable for directing, overseeing, and coordinating the functions of providing technical assistance, safety plan development, safety training, and oversight of school transportation programs. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. (This is a NON-STATE, TIME LIMITED position).
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Master's Degree and 6 years of experience. -- Agency Preferred Qualifications: Experience with purchasing, solicitations, contract management, and/or child nutrition programs preferred.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
