Location: Flushing, NY
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday – Friday | 37.5 Hours/Week | 30-Minute Unpaid Lunch

Pay Rate
Local: $2,800 – $2,900/week
Traveler: $2,900 – $2,950/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technician to perform echocardiograms, operate diagnostic equipment, and support patient care within a Non-Invasive Cardiology department.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technician I or equivalent echocardiography experience.

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

  • Completion of an approved Echocardiogram Training Program.

  • CCI Echocardiography certification or ARMS Echo Certification.

  • Required to obtain ICAEL-recognized certification.

  • Working knowledge of echocardiography equipment, procedures, and supplies.

  • Strong communication and patient-service skills.

  • Ability to identify and report equipment or patient-related problems appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain echocardiogram equipment and related supplies.

  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and proper working condition and report malfunctions.

  • Maintain adequate supplies on machines and carts.

  • Respond to STAT echocardiogram requests within 15 minutes.

  • Perform echocardiograms as ordered and verify patient identification.

  • Explain procedures to patients and position them appropriately for examinations.

  • Select appropriate transducers and adjust equipment to optimize imaging.

  • Document completed examinations and maintain study data and files.

  • Assist physicians during procedures such as pericardiocentesis while maintaining sterile technique.

  • Maintain department logs, records, reports, and files.

  • Provide clerical support, including answering phones and scheduling or rescheduling examinations.

  • Identify patient concerns and obtain appropriate assistance from an MD or RN when needed.

  • Follow quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection-control, and departmental standards.

  • Provide professional and courteous service to patients, families, physicians, and staff.
