Early-Career Multi-Axis CNC Production Operator

Why this role matters

Every accurate part begins with a skilled operator. In this position, you’ll turn engineering drawings into finished components by running CNC mills and lathes, monitoring quality, and solving small problems before they become big ones.

What you’ll handle day to day

• Operate and set up CNC mills and lathes for drilling, milling, turning, and grinding tasks.
• Decode blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job specs; apply GD&T requirements.
• Stage raw materials, load parts, set tools and work offsets, and validate first articles.
• Watch cycle performance, adjust feeds/speeds or code as needed, and troubleshoot.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to verify conformance.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance to keep machines production-ready.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What you need to succeed

• Basic CNC equipment and tooling knowledge; strong mechanical sense.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on familiarity with precision measurement tools.
• Comfort with math and a keen eye for detail.
• Self-starter who collaborates well with a team.

Minimum background

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months to 1 year of CNC experience required.
• Certificate or diploma in machining or engineering is a plus.
