    E&S Property Underwriter

    Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

    About the Opportunity

    We are currently partnered with a growing, entrepreneurial MGA looking to add an E&S Property Underwriter to their team in Texas. This is a strong opportunity to join a nimble platform with established carrier relationships, a collaborative underwriting environment, and a clear path for growth.

    This role will focus on underwriting complex non-admitted property risks, with an emphasis on production, broker relationship management, and portfolio profitability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Underwrite and price E&S property risks, including CAT-exposed business (wind, hail, wildfire, etc.)
    • Handle new business submissions, renewals, and endorsements across a variety of property classes
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and distribution partners
    • Evaluate risk characteristics, exposures, and coverage structures to make sound underwriting decisions
    • Manage a profitable book of business with a focus on growth and retention
    • Collaborate with internal teams (actuarial, claims, leadership) on underwriting strategy and appetite
    • Stay up to date on market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, ideally within the E&S market
    • Experience underwriting CAT-exposed property risks preferred
    • Background working within an MGA, carrier, or wholesale/binding authority environment
    • Strong broker-facing and production-oriented mindset
    • Ability to analyze risk and make independent underwriting decisions
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
