Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent Drywall Estimator to join our team. This role is critical in shaping the future of our projects by providing accurate and competitive estimates for drywall systems in commercial construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of estimating processes, from initial blueprint reading through to final bid preparation. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction documents and vendor management.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, construction documents, and project specifications to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare detailed reports to support decision-making processes.
- Manage all aspects of drywall systems, including metal framing, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, incorporating material procurement strategies, vendor management, and value engineering principles.
- Monitor and adjust budgeting and scheduling for projects based on changes in project parameters, change order pricing, and other factors.
- Coordinate closely with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and other relevant software for efficient and accurate estimation and project coordination.
- Continually enhance knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and other factors that may impact project costs and timelines.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on commercial construction and drywall systems.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
- Extensive knowledge of construction documents, vendor management, and change order pricing.
- Strong understanding of metal framing and drywall systems.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, material procurement, and project coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and other relevant software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates that contribute to the successful completion of projects.
