This is a Monday-Friday split shift- 25 hours per week

Monday- Friday 6:30AM - 9:00AM and 2:00PM - 4:30PM

Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Join our Community Services Board (CSB) team as a Part-Time Transportation Driver and help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities safely access meaningful day support services and community activities. No special driver's license or endorsements are required!

What You'll Do

  • Safely transport individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to and from the Day Support Program and community-based activities in wheelchair accessible vans.
  • Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices as needed.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs and required documentation.
  • Ensure that the Program Vehicles receive the required Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Follow all traffic laws, agency policies, and safety procedures.
  • Foster a respectful, person-centered environment while interacting with individuals, families, and staff.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and support individuals in a calm, professional manner.

Required Qualifications

Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires instruction that is sufficient for satisfactory job performance.

Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of one month of related, full-time equivalent experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record in compliance with City Driving Standards. Depending on departmental assignment, may require at least a valid CDL Class C license to operate a multi-passenger vehicle with an occupancy of 16 or more passengers. May be required to obtain a CDL Class B license with Passenger Certification based on assignment.

Special Requirements: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Experience providing transportation services to individuals within the human services field, preferable adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to pass CPR, First Aid, TOVA training, and be certified by Modivcare
  • Any prior experience working with the ID population
