The Oregon Clinic is seeking a proactive, innovative leader to join our team as a full-time Director of Operations. The Director is part of our senior administrative leadership team, supporting TOC's mission and optimizing healthcare delivery. Expertise in Medical Practice Operations
The ideal candidate has broad and deep knowledge of medical practice operations and understands how to effectively lead complex healthcare environments. This role will drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and support high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions will include:
Strategic Planning and Innovation:
- Explores and follows through on beneficial new and expanded healthcare service opportunities, from idea generation through implementation. Includes working with physicians, TOC leadership, and others to grow healthcare services that enhance patient experience, generate revenue and/or provide cost-saving opportunities.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for healthcare services to align with the organizations goals.
- Establishing operational policies and procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
Financial Oversight:
- Successful management of specialty group's fiscal operations. Includes accurate budgeting, cost/benefit analysis of new opportunities, understanding of financial reports, and ability to interpret financials and make sound business recommendations.
- Managing departmental budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying and implementing cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. Evaluating pricing strategies.
- Analyzing financial performance data to track revenue generation and ensure financial targets are met.
Quality Assurance, Service Improvement, and Compliance:
- Demonstrates and champions TOC mission throughout all clinics. Evaluates opportunities for practice improvement initiatives including optimizing workflows and maximizing efficiencies.
- Implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery using quality metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Includes resolving patient concerns, conducting/reviewing patient satisfaction surveys, and leading by example.
- Identifying opportunities to implement new healthcare technologies or services to improve efficiency and patient experience.
- Monitoring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements within departments.
Staff Leadership and Development:
- Fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork among staff.
- Responsible for management and development of staff, directly or indirectly including delegation and mentorship.
Teamwork: Management, Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate directly to the physician leadership in the specialty group(s) they support. Additionally, a dotted-line reporting relationship to the COO ensures administrative consistency and strong clinic communication.
- Establishing relationships with external vendors and resources to identify ancillary opportunities. Evaluating emerging trends in healthcare to identify potential areas for service expansion.
- Overseeing the operations of all Orthopedics departments, including staffing, effective follow-through, and workflow optimization.
- Participating in research and development activities related to ancillary services.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary: Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $144,052.48 - $216,078.72 per year.
Workdays: This salaried position is based at our Orthopedic Clinics in Beaverton and Northeast Portland. Onsite meetings and presence at our Central Administration Office in Northeast Portland will also be required. Typical work hours are Monday- Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm).
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience, and values including:
- Masters degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years medical group practice experience required, with increasing responsibility in a supervisory / leadership role.
- Specialty Orthopedics healthcare experience is preferred.
- Ability to analyze, prepare, and present financial and performance-related reports and projects to the physician members.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding collaboration, flexibility, and teamwork.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Exceptional analytical, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Effectively multi-task.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
