An established and growth-oriented commercial construction company is launching and expanding its Southeast Division, beginning in the Atlanta market, and we are seeking a Director of Operations to help lead that growth.
This is not a maintenance role inside a mature branch office. This is an opportunity for a builder-minded leader who thrives in environments where growth, adaptability, accountability, and relationship-building are part of the process.
The right person will help establish the company’s presence in the Southeast, strengthen client relationships, support business development efforts, lead project operations, and help build a high-performing team and culture in the region.
We are looking for a leader who takes ownership, communicates clearly, builds trust, and leads from the front without ego.
About the Opportunity
The company has an established reputation and strong operational infrastructure throughout New England, with expertise across commercial construction, healthcare, corporate interiors, occupied renovations, higher education, and complex project environments.
The Southeast Division is backed by:
- Established leadership and executive support
- Existing operational systems and processes
- Active business development efforts
- An experienced project management foundation already in place in Georgia
- A collaborative leadership team focused on long-term growth
This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of the division while partnering closely with an engaged and supportive executive team.

- Help hire, mentor, coach, and develop key operational personnel as the division grows
- Build operational structure, accountability, and disciplined execution across the division
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership on forecasting, growth strategy, staffing, and long-term planning
- Serve as a visible and trusted leader both internally and externally
- Help establish a strong long-term culture centered around ownership, teamwork, growth, and accountability
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of leadership experience within commercial construction, construction management, interiors, general contracting, or related project environments
- Strong operational leadership experience managing projects, teams, clients, and business performance
- Experience helping grow a market, region, office, or business unit is highly preferred
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
- Background within healthcare, corporate interiors, higher education, occupied renovations, or complex commercial projects is preferred
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement
- Strong financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading and developing teams in fast-paced project environments
- Comfortable operating within a growing and evolving division where adaptability and initiative are critical
- Strong communicator with executive presence and a collaborative leadership style
Ideal Leadership Traits
- Ownership mentality
- Low ego / high accountability
- Team-oriented leadership approach
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Adaptable and solutions-focused
- Comfortable building structure and improving processes
- Positive, growth-minded mentality
- Calm under pressure
- Leads with professionalism and integrity
