Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Under the direction of the Associate Administrator, you will be responsible for the management, coordination, and oversight of the Medical Staff Services Department, including physician and allied health credentialing and credentialing, meeting management, and flow of information from medical staff committees through the Medical Staff Executive Committee and the Governing Board
  • Additional responsibilities include oversight and management of the Accredited Joint Continuing Medical Education program and the Medical Library
  • You will be responsible for supervising, delegating and coordinating the work of the Medical Staff Services Department, Joint Continuing Medical Education Coordinator, and Medical Library staff, and work with minimal supervision, proceeding on his/her own initiative, in compliance with policies, practices and procedures of Good Samaritan Hospital / Mission Oaks Hospital and accepted professional standards for the position

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or health related field preferred
  • Maintains current knowledge of standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, California Title XXII regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation, National Committee on Quality Assurance, and other state and federal regulations related to Medical Staff organization and assists in preparing the organization for accreditation and licensing surveys as related to Medical Staff functions
  • Five (5) years minimum prior experience in Medical Staff Services in a management or supervisory position
  • Current NAMSS Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM and/or CPCS) certification.
