    Description

    Oversees medical services and provides advanced medical care and direction within the Nurse Practitioner ("NP") scope of practice at all Prestonwood Pregnancy Center ("PPC") locations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver safe, compassionate, client-centered care in alignment with PPC's mission

    • Perform pregnancy tests, and limited medical screenings and obstetrical ultrasounds according to standing delegation orders

    • Maintain accurate client documentation according to PPC protocol and legal standards

    • Provide client and family education and counseling

    • Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic tests as permitted by state regulations and PPC policy

    • Incorporate principles of safety in all clinical operations by:

    • Demonstrating safe use of medical equipment; and

    • Maintaining infection-control measures with all client contact

    • Conduct client assessments to determine differential diagnoses related to pregnancy, reproductive health, and common women's health concerns

    • Provide limited prenatal counseling and management of normal pregnancy findings

    • Formulate and initiate appropriate evidence-based care plans

    • Provide medical consultations for complex client situations and guide nursing staff regarding client care questions

    • Identify high risk pregnancy conditions and coordinate with physicians to provide medical oversight when necessary

    • Prescribe medications as appropriate under Texas state law and PPC protocols

    • Participate in development, revision, and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and standing delegation orders

    • Collaborate with PPC leadership to develop and implement improvements to existing PPC protocols, including new service lines

    • Oversee staff RNs, Sonographers and Clinic Managers

    • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and training for RNs, sonographers, volunteers, and medical assistants

    • Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, and performance improvement initiatives

    • Ensure HIPAA compliance for PPC

    • Assist with the creation and full implementation of PPC's annual strategic plan as it relates to medical services

    • Other duties as assigned
