Clayton Services is searching for a Director of Logistics to join a thriving international manufacturing and distribution company in Southwest Houston. The Director of Logistics will be responsible for leading domestic and international logistics operations, optimizing transportation and supply chain processes, managing third-party logistics providers, and developing a high-performing logistics team.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $150,000 - $180,000 plus discretionary bonus of 10-50% annually

Director of Logistics Responsibilities:
  • Lead domestic and international logistics operations from inbound shipments through final customer delivery.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies that improve efficiency while reducing transportation and operating costs.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, transportation companies, freight forwarders, and warehouse partners.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound transportation planning to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze logistics data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a logistics team while fostering a collaborative, results-driven culture.
  • Partner with operations, sales, finance, customer service, and executive leadership to support business objectives.
  • Manage freight budgets, vendor performance, and logistics-related expenditures.
  • Ensure inventory movement is accurate, timely, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with transportation regulations, import/export requirements, and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and data-driven decision-making.
  • Travel occasionally to support operational initiatives and business needs.
Director of Logistics Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive experience leading domestic and international logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export logistics, transportation management, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Experience coordinating complex supply chain operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, TMS, or other logistics management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational metrics and implement improvements.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimization methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools is a plus.
Director of Logistics Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience.
  • Several years of leadership experience managing logistics or supply chain teams.
  • Experience with international logistics and import operations is required.
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, food manufacturing, consumer products, or other complex supply chain environments is strongly preferred.
