A 371-bed acute care hospital in Austin is seeking a Director of Electrophysiology Lab to lead a thriving, high-volume electrophysiology program. The department currently operates six fully equipped EP labs, with a seventh lab under development to support continued growth and expanding patient care services.
This leadership position is responsible for the daily operations of the Electrophysiology Lab, Pre- and Post-Surgical areas, and the AFIB Center. The director provides guidance and oversight to a team of approximately 54 to 61 full-time employees, including two supervisors and one Clinical Nurse Coordinator, while fostering a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities include overseeing clinical operations, coordinating patient flow, supporting exceptional patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with established nursing standards and regulatory requirements. The director also manages staff performance evaluations, mentors team members through goal setting and professional development, and promotes accountability across the department. Additional responsibilities include monitoring documentation and charge accuracy, participating in budgeting and inventory management, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and quality of care.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Acute care experience required
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
