Director of Education

Schedule: Closing shift (until 6:00 PM, flexibility required)
The Goddard School® of Allen (West), TX is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Education to lead our early childhood program with excellence, integrity, and vision.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Program Quality
- Oversee curriculum implementation across all classrooms
- Ensure lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and consistently executed, including materials and resources
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide timely feedback
- Maintain high-quality standards aligned with Texas Rising Stars and Cognia accreditation
Team Leadership & Development
- Coach, mentor, and support teachers through ongoing feedback and training
- Lead professional development, staff meetings, and curriculum planning sessions
- Support onboarding and training of new staff in the classroom
- Conduct performance evaluations (90-day and annual reviews)
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards
- Maintain accurate records, classroom documentation, and program visibility
- Monitor classroom environments, materials, and overall quality
Family & Community Engagement
- Support parent communication, conferences, and meetings
- Conduct tours for prospective families as needed
- Assist with school events, marketing efforts, and community engagement
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with Owner and Director of Operations on hiring, planning, and budgeting
- Contribute to annual planning, school events, and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director in a licensed childcare facility (Texas required)
- Strong knowledge of Texas Child Care Licensing standards
- Experience with Texas Rising Stars and/or accreditation systems preferred
- Familiarity with Conscious Discipline or similar approach preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new systems
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and lead in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment & Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and events
- Active presence in classrooms and around the school
