Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Communications for a respected, mission-driven professional association. This is an onsite opportunity based in Fort Worth, Texas.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client is seeking a strategic communications leader to oversee organization-wide communications, digital engagement, brand strategy, and content development. This highly visible leadership role partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen stakeholder engagement, guide organizational messaging, and lead integrated communications initiatives across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is an innovative communicator who excels at leading teams, managing high-impact communications, and using data to drive engagement and organizational success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the organization's communications strategy across digital platforms, web, email, social media, multimedia, and other communication channels.

  • Oversee content strategy, editorial planning, integrated campaigns, brand management, and crisis communications to ensure clear, consistent messaging.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing communications team while managing department priorities, workflows, and production schedules.

  • Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic communications guidance and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

  • Analyze engagement metrics, audience feedback, and communication performance to continuously improve communications strategies.

  • Manage departmental operations, external vendor relationships, communications technology, and budget while fostering collaboration across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated success leading strategic communications, public relations, corporate communications, or digital communications initiatives.

  • Experience managing communications teams and collaborating with executive leadership on organizational messaging and communications strategy.

  • Strong expertise in digital communications, content strategy, branding, social media, multimedia communications, and audience engagement.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, editing, and storytelling skills with experience supporting high-visibility communications.

  • Proven ability to leverage analytics and audience insights to develop and refine effective communications strategies.
