We are seeking an experienced Director of Benefits to lead the design, administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of comprehensive employee benefits programs within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for overseeing health & welfare plans, retirement programs, and benefits operations to ensure competitive, compliant, and cost-effective offerings.
Job Overview
The Director of Benefits will provide strategic leadership across all benefits functions, including plan design, evaluation, implementation, vendor management, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures alignment of benefits strategy with organizational goals while supporting employee well-being and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategy and execution of employee benefits programs
Oversee health & welfare plans (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)
Manage retirement programs including 401(k), 403(b), and pension plans
Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, and other applicable regulations
Direct benefits operations, renewals, and vendor partnerships
Evaluate and optimize benefits programs for cost efficiency and competitiveness
Partner with HR and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Lead implementation of new benefits initiatives and system enhancements
Monitor industry trends to maintain competitive benefits offerings
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in benefits administration, operations, and program implementation
Strong experience in the healthcare industry
Proven expertise in plan design, evaluation, compliance, and implementation
Hands-on experience with health & welfare and retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), pension)
Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex benefits programs
