Director, Marketing Strategy (Agency)

The Opportunity

As an expansion hire, this Senior Marketing Strategy Director role sits at the intersection of enterprise B2B demand generation, digital advertising strategy, and executive client advisory. Partnering with the sales team during late-stage deal cycles, you will act as the single point of contact and strategic owner for high-value B2B client accounts—guiding board-level growth strategies, driving platform adoption, and linking digital media execution directly to pipeline performance. This role offers the creative, consultative freedom of an agency strategy lead without the burden of manual campaign setup or cold business development.

Working with mid-market and enterprise brands globally, the company’s software streamlines digital ad operations, helping marketing leaders optimize multi-channel budgets and maximize full-funnel revenue impact.

Location

This role is serving the broader Tampa Metro Area market. While the role offers flexible remote work arrangements, candidates should expect to be in the local office during non-travel periods as local office expectations are finalized. Standard availability is required across U.S. time zones, along with an expected travel requirement of 15% to 35% for key client on-sites, strategic workshops, and company off-sites.
 

What You Will Do

• Act as the primary post-sale strategic owner driving client onboarding, account health, expansion, and retention.
• Collaborate with sales leadership pre-sale to scope strategic needs, present demand generation models, and ensure smooth account handoffs.
• Oversee strategic allocation of client multi-channel digital ad budgets (ranging from mid-six figures to eight figures) focused strictly on qualified pipeline and revenue metrics.
• Consult with and challenge CMOs and marketing executives on media mix, unit economics, conversion efficiency, and channel prioritization.
• Provide strategic direction to internal account and technical specialists to ensure optimal campaign structures and data inputs.
• Analyze end-to-end funnel metrics to identify conversion friction, present proactive optimizations, and drive account renewals.

Who You Are

• Experience: 4+ years leading B2B digital advertising, performance marketing, or demand generation strategies.
• Budget Management: Track record managing multi-million-dollar paid media budgets within an agency, SaaS, or consultative environment.
• Financial Acumen: Comfort building B2B demand models, analyzing unit economics (CAC, LTV, pipeline velocity), and presenting ROI cases to executive stakeholders.
• Communication: Strong executive presence with the confidence to respectfully challenge C-suite clients using performance data.
• Tech Tech Stack: Experience with B2B marketing automation tools, ad platforms, or enterprise SaaS software.
