Position OverviewClorox is seeking a strategic and experienced legal leader to join the Legal team as Director, Legal – Commercial & Technology. This role will lead the commercial contracting function with particular ownership of the company's technology transaction portfolio and advise closely on legal technology strategy and implementation.ResponsibilitiesPersonally lead and negotiate the company's highest‑stakes and most complex commercial contracts, ensuring strategic alignment, risk mitigation, and optimal outcomesHandle technology transactions (AI, SaaS, cyber), direct supply agreements (raw and packaging materials, external manufacturing, MRO, capital), indirect services (marketing, finance, HR, events), offshoring & outsourcing, data privacy & security agreements, sales agreementsLead and develop the commercial contracting Legal team, set performance standards, track KPIs, and build team capabilitiesServe as the Legal team's subject‑matter expert on technology and AI, collaborating with Technology, Procurement, Privacy, Infosec to improve governance and approval processesDevelop and implement scalable AI‑first processes to reduce contract turnaround time and improve business outcomesPartner closely with Legal Operations to provide technical and commercial expertise for significant legal technology acquisition, implementation, and optimization projectsStay current on legal trends and best practices in commercial transactions, AI, and legal technologyQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdictionMinimum 10 years of legal experience with increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years in‑house at a technology company or as dedicated technology transactions counsel with a substantial technology client base.
