Overview

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join Prader-Willi Homes! Competitive pay starting at $19/hour and a full benefits package.

Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a complex genetic disorder that can affect appetite, metabolism, cognitive functioning, and behavior. Because of these needs, our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) play an important role in maintaining consistent routines, clear expectations, structured food plans, and a safe and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do:

This is a hands-on caregiving role where consistency, patience, and following established plans are essential. You’ll build relationships with residents while helping them navigate daily routines, behaviors, and personal goals.

• Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene, dressing, medications, and other daily living needs
• Prepare and cook meals while carefully following established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines
• Maintain required food routines and boundaries that are an important part of supporting individuals with PWS
• Follow individualized behavioral and support plans consistently, including established routines and expectations
• Support residents through challenging behaviors, frustration, or difficulty with changes and limits
• Use approved de-escalation and intervention techniques while maintaining a calm, supportive approach
• Help residents develop daily living, social, communication, and independence skills
• Support structured activities, recreation, appointments, and community outings
• Maintain a safe, organized, and structured group home environment
• Document progress, behaviors, incidents, and other important information
• Communicate closely with team members to provide consistent care and follow-through across shifts

  What You’ll Need:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
• Comfortable cooking and following recipes, menus, measurements, portions, and dietary guidelines
• Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and consistently follow established routines and support plans
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively when residents display challenging behaviors
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and follow specialized approaches for supporting individuals with PWS
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required

  Most positions also require:

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely transport residents in a company-provided vehicle

  Schedule:

• 1st and 2nd shift options available
• Rotating 12-hour weekend shifts
• Holiday shifts as part of the rotation

  Pay & Benefits:

  Starting pay: $19.00/hour
