    Job Description:

    CohesionForce is actively seeking candidates for a DevSecOps and Release Engineer to become part of our team in Huntsville, AL. This individual will design, automate, and support secure software delivery for a multi-service enterprise platform. The engineer will improve CI/CD, software supply-chain assurance, release coordination, deployment validation, and recovery readiness across development and customer environments.

    Responsbibilities include:

    • Design and maintain reusable CI/CD pipelines, build automation, test stages, artifact promotoin, and release workflows.

    • Integrate code analysis, dependency analysis, container scanning, dynamic testing, software bills of materials, signing, and provenance into delivery pipelines.

    • Manage container images, packages, deployment artifacts, versioning, and release records across private registries and access-controlled environments.

    • Automate Kubernetes and OpenShift deployment validation using GitOps, Helm, Kustomize, infrastructure as code, and policy checks.

    • Coordinate releases across multiple software teams and ensure dependencies, evidence, approvals, and customer inputs are ready.

    • Develop integration, negative, upgrade, rollback, and recovery tests with platform and application engineers.

    • Investigate pipeline, build, artifact, deployment, and environment failures and implement durable corrections.

    • Maintain release procedures, deployment instructions, operational handoff material, and recovery documentation.

    • Measure deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, recovery time, and recurring delivery effort.

    • Promote secure automation, reproducible builds, peer review, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, information technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and combined education, with 7 years of experience, or relevant professional experience; or 5 years with a related Master's degree.

    • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines for multi-service software products.

    • Experience with Git, Linux, containers, Kubernetes or OpenShift, scripting, and infrastructure as code.

    • Experience integrating automated software quality and security checks into build and release workflows.

    • Experience with artifact repositories, container registries, versioning, release coordination, and deployment automation.

    • Experience troubleshooting, pipeline, artifact, and deployment issues.

    • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate release risk to technical and nontechnical personnel.

    • Works well in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.

    • Must be willing to work onsite in a closed/classified area.

    • Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with GitLab CI, Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, Ansible, or comperable technologies.

    • Experience with SAST, DAST, software composition analysis, container scanning, software bills of materials, artifact signing, and vulnerability disposition.

    • Experience with private registries and disconnected software deliver.

    • Experience with policy as code, Kubernetes configuration validation, and automated compliance evidence.

    • Experience with progressive delivery release trians, rollback automation, disaster recovery, or operational readiness reviews.

    • Experience supporting government customers and formal software releases.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.

    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
