Development Operations Associate

REPORTS TO: Individual Giving Manager 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

At Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, our mission is to awaken the human spirit through contemporary dance, envisioning a dance landscape that is relevant and accessible to all.  

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is seeking a permanent part-time individual to join its Development Team for approximately 20 hours/week. HSDC's Development Database Administrator will support essential components of development work, including data management and hygiene, gift processing, and donor stewardship.  This permanent, part-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented professional seeking a stable, long-term position doing meaningful work by supporting a leading contemporary dance company as it approaches its 50th anniversary season. 

This role is best suited to someone who values consistency and takes pride in being dependable. Because the position operates with significant independence, the successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who can manage recurring responsibilities, anticipate deadlines, communicate clearly, and follow through without close supervision.  

This is a remote-eligible position of approximately 20 hours per week, designed as a stable, long-term part-time role. Candidates must reside in the United States. The position is particularly well suited to a professional seeking a long-term, reduced-hours role as their primary professional commitment. The successful candidate will establish a consistent weekly schedule with their supervisor, with work generally taking place during HSDC's normal operating hours of 9am–5pm Central 

Role type: Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week 

Salary: $30/hour 

• Data entry, gift processing, and gift acknowledgments: Partner with Hubbard development staff to manage general, ongoing Program needs, including data entry, gift processing, and gift acknowledgments. 

• List building, extraction, and import support: Partner with Hubbard Street staff to prepare key mailing and donor recognition lists for upcoming communications and events and collaborate with the marketing team to support a smooth import of performance data from external Tessitura environment. 

• Development support: Partner with Hubbard development staff on other general philanthropy data and systems needs. 

• Process documentation: Document key program processes, workflows, and recurring procedures to support continuity and staff education and reference. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated reliability and ability to manage recurring responsibilities independently in a remote work environment 

• Applicant should have fundraising, database management, communications or related experience,; possess excellent technological and organizational skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

• The applicant should demonstrate the ability to exercise discretion and appropriate judgment with confidential materials.  

• The applicant should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.  

• Experience with Tessitura database is highly desirable. Experience working within a CRM is required.  

• Knowledge of maintaining and analyzing donor/patron data and experience in prospect research is highly desirable.  

• Applicants should be skilled with Microsoft Office applications.
