• Pay Rate: $30.00 $36.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

The main function of a Desktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops. These roles will support high-volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research, packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation
• Set up new users, including desktop configuration, email accounts, LDAP accounts, VPN accounts
• Support employees, both local and remote, with desktop issues, account issues, and access to various internal services
• Troubleshoot software issues on employees' desktops/laptops
• Some off-hours support may apply

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Windows OS
• Experience with desktop installation and configuration
• Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices
• Strong customer service and customer-facing skills
• Troubleshooting of the Office 365 suite, including Excel Macros
• Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-volume walk-up traffic in person

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial services or large enterprise environments preferred; experience in an innovation hub or lab environment with direct customer interaction is equally preferred

Education Requirements

• Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required

Required Experience

• 5 7 years of experience required (candidates with strong troubleshooting skills and fewer years of experience will also be considered)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Fully in-person, customer-facing role for the entire workday at the innovation hub
• Onsite interview required; interview will consist primarily of software-focused questions
