Job Title: Desktop Support Technician FLSA: Nonexempt
Reports to: Technology Service Manager Pay Grade: PCCTEC Dept./School: Information Technology/ Calendar Days: 226 Bamberg Building Revised: 6.13.2022 Perform level II technical support that includes but not limited to installing and maintaining computer equipment and software applications throughout the district at campuses and departments. Respond to work orders and special requests by diagnosing computers, printers, and mobile devices hardware and software issues. Exercise good judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action for the technical issue(s).

Provide level II technical support to organizations users the use of computers, instructional equipment, and software.
Install and configure applications and operating systems as needed throughout the district.
Assist with the distributing of technology throughout the district for labs/classrooms and departmental use.
Diagnose network connectivity issues as it relates to printers, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
Assist inventory agent with maintaining accurate inventory of hardware, software, and any other equipment and material at assigned departments and campuses as it pertains to technology services support.
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Educator Certification rule, and local board policy and all district and campus routines and regulations.

Coordinates special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned. Supervision of assigned staff
The desktop support technician evaluation is a responsibility resting with the Technology Service Manager. An evaluation shall be completed in writing at least once during the course of each school year.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile device repairs. Travel: Frequent travel district-wide will be required to perform job task(s). Daily operating of personal vehicle per day to support department and/or campuses.
