    Description

    HTI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer with an established manufacturer of custom material handling and storage solutions in Greenville, SC. This position will focus on customer-specific structural racking designs and manufacturing-ready drawings. This position is Direct Hire, Monday–Friday, 7 AM–4 PM. The salary range is $80,000–$105,000 depending on experience.

    What You Need:
    • At least 2 years of professional design experience
    • Hands-on AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D experience
    • Structural design, racking, or steel fabrication background preferred
    • Four-year engineering degree preferred
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
    • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities

    What Your Role Will Look Like:
    The Design Engineer will develop structural racking and storage solutions tailored to customer requirements. This role owns project-specific design details and works closely with project management, engineering, and production to deliver accurate, cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
    • Create 2D drawings, 3D models, and renderings for customer approval and production.
    • Adapt established design concepts to each customer’s specifications and project needs.
    • Review similar projects, gather information, and ask questions before developing a design plan.
    • Manage assigned projects while balancing deadlines and changing priorities.
    • Revise designs based on customer feedback, scope changes, and manufacturing requirements.
    • Coordinate with engineering on calculation reviews and code compliance.
    • Support production with design clarification and resolve issues as they arise.
    • Improve drawing accuracy, documentation, and design processes.
    • Occasionally visit nearby customer sites to review existing systems; travel is limited.
