Description

Summary:

  • Location: Greenville, SC
  • Duration: 12 Months Contract
  • Work Mode: ONSITE

Responsibilities:

  • Provide design engineering support to global supply chain partners.
  • Analyze and disposition hardware deviations.
  • Oversee second source supplier qualifications.
  • Participate in lean initiatives to reduce costs, scrap, and non-conformances.
  • Own redesign efforts through engineering drawing revisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and factories to ensure hardware quality and fulfillment.
  • Leverage analytical tools to analyze and deliver solutions for deviant hardware.
  • Act as technical focal for qualifications of new processes/changes.
  • Conduct technical reviews of design tasks and help assess risks.
  • Follow standard work and design templates for common issues.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards in design activities.
  • Apply basic knowledge of gas turbine design to support improvements.
  • Foster a positive work environment, supporting a culture of quality and urgency.

Requirements:

  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional global organization.
  • Ability to rapidly shift day-to-day priorities based on emerging business needs.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, methods, materials, and coatings.
  • Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and a continuous learner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as precision forging, investment casting, machining, coating, shot peening, inspection, fixturing, etc.
  • Familiar with Ansys, NX, and other analytical tools.
  • Previous non-conformance dispositioning experience of deviating hardware by applying mechanical engineering assessments.
  • Relevant experience designing gas turbine hardware or similar rotating machinery, specifically flow path components.
