Position Summary
Transform lives by supporting Institutional Effectiveness, Accreditation, and Quality by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to document grant outcomes and respond to institutional data requests. Independently manage survey development, administration, analysis, and reporting, including surveys used to measure grant outcomes. Collaborate with grant personnel and college stakeholders to clarify reporting requirements, track outcomes, validate information, and prepare accurate, accessible reports within established deadlines. Maintain data documentation to support consistent reporting and continuity of work. Additional responsibilities may include supporting other state and federal reporting requirements and developing data visualizations based on skills and departmental needs.
Limited-term position with an anticipated end date of September 2027.
This position could be remote with at least a one-day on-campus requirement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate with grant personnel to identify required outcome measures, definitions, data sources, collection schedules, and reporting deadlines.
Collect, maintain, and validate grant outcome data from surveys and other institutional sources. Track outcomes against established targets and communicate data gaps or reporting concerns promptly.
Prepare and provide grant outcome reports according to grant requirements and deadlines, maintaining supporting documentation of data sources, calculations, and results.
Independently manage survey development and administration, including clarifying objectives with stakeholders, writing clear and neutral questions, testing surveys, managing distribution lists, scheduling invitations and reminders, and monitoring responses.
Analyze survey, grant, and institutional data using descriptive statistics, including counts, percentages, averages, response rates, and trends, using appropriate populations and denominators.
Analyze open-ended responses, identify recurring themes, and prepare balanced summaries while protecting respondent confidentiality.
Prepare and share clear reports that explain findings, identify trends, and acknowledge limitations for audiences with varying levels of data knowledge.
Collaborate with college stakeholders to clarify and document data requests, including their purpose, population, time period, deadline, and desired format. Track requests through completion and provide customized reports and analyses.
Use institutional data sources and established reporting procedures to retrieve and verify information. Apply consistent institutional definitions.
Validate data by checking for missing values, duplicate records, inconsistent totals, and calculation errors before releasing results. Investigate discrepancies and seek assistance when needed.
Use Excel to organize, clean, combine, validate, and summarize data and prepare reports using formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and charts.
Create, maintain, and update data documentation, including data dictionaries, source descriptions, reporting definitions, calculations, data preparation steps, and reporting procedures. Record changes and organize documentation so reports can be reproduced and work can be continued by other staff.
Maintain survey schedules, instruments, administration procedures, and supporting records.
Independently manage assigned projects and timelines, coordinate priorities with the supervisor, and communicate progress or barriers to meeting deadlines.
Communicate clearly and provide responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Protect confidential student, employee, and survey respondent information by following established data access, storage, and sharing procedures.
Support other state and federal reporting requirements as assigned.
Develop or maintain reports, visualizations, and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools as assigned, based on demonstrated skills and departmental needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in data analytics, business, information systems, computer science, social sciences, statistics, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience independently developing, administering, and reporting results from electronic surveys required.
Demonstrated ability to organize, clean, combine, summarize, and validate data in Excel using formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and charts required.
Experience preferred in: collecting, tracking, and reporting grant outcomes; higher education or institutional research; experience with Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, or similar data preparation and reporting tools; basic SQL skills.
Must possess excellent problem resolution, independent judgement, be goal-oriented, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
