Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days in office

Job Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong business-facing product analytics experience to analyze complex data, apply statistical and machine learning techniques, and deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and Python skills, experience with A/B testing, and the ability to identify practical applications of AI/LLM capabilities for business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable business insights.
  • Partner with business and product teams to understand ambiguous problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and interpret A/B tests, including control group design and efficacy measurement.
  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to support business and product decisions.
  • Query and extract data using SQL and Python, including from big data environments such as Spark.
  • Evaluate business problems and identify appropriate opportunities to apply AI/LLM capabilities.
  • Communicate analytical findings and AI/LLM recommendations clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Present insights, results, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Independently drive analytics projects from problem definition through delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in Data Science, with a strong focus on business-facing product analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience querying and extracting data from large-scale data environments; Spark experience is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience designing and interpreting A/B tests, including control group setup and efficacy measurement.
  • Working knowledge of AI/LLM capabilities and how to apply them to business problems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break ambiguous problems into actionable steps.
  • Experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to derive insights from large, complex datasets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI/visualization tools.
  • Experience working with financial products.
  • Strong combination of business and technical expertise.
