POSITION TITLE: DATA GOVERNANCE ANALYST
DEPARTMENT: ENTERPRISE DATA OFFICE
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in Information Science or comparable field of study, or equivalent experience required; Master's degree in Information Science preferred
Minimum 7 years of data governance or data management experience required, background in preferred
Experience leading enterprise-wide transformational projects and coordinating activities across multiple departments
Previous financial sector experience required with asset management background preferable
Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications, BI reporting solutions, and analytical tools.
Hands on experience of leveraging AI tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes
Strong SQL skills and data profiling skills preferred
MAJOR DUTIES:
With high degree of independence and general direction from management; analyze, define, implement, and promote appropriate and effective utilization of our data governance tools as well as other enterprise assets such as Copilot, Sharepoint, Power BI and other business accelerators.
Analyze and refine our Global Data Office data governance solutions strategy, identifying the principles, objectives, key components, and roadmap for cultivation of our Data Governance solutions toolset going forward.
Establish standards for the data governance solutions to ensure that all managed data is concise, accurate, complete, and current.
In conjunction with the Global Technology Organization, Advance Analytics & Business Intelligence and others, define a strategy to leverage Federated Hermes' adoption of AI to accelerate the adoption and usability of the Global Data Office's suit of Data Governance applications.
Lead the analysis and definition of standardized, consistent usage of data governance tools across the global Federated Hermes businesses particularly focused on metadata management and data quality associated with our Data Governance Framework.
Collaborate with business units to identify and document data governance use cases and needs associated with our data governance toolset - for example, citizen development utilization of our data catalog, glossary, etc.
Serve as Global Data Office project lead in collaboration with GTO on project management for data governance-related systems projects, particularly ensuring business requirements across all Data Domains are implemented and ensure a seamless transition to the target state solution.
Maintain collaborative relationships and alignment with strategic partners across the enterprise, particularly with GTO, Enterprise Data Operations, Internal Audit, and Compliance.
As needed, assist with development and delivery of data governance training to business units to promote effective usage of our data governance solutions.
Develop and deliver progress monitoring reports and dashboards that describe the progress and adoption of our data governance solutions.
Author and maintain descriptive/illustrative documentation pertaining to our data governance solutions.
Provide supervisory activities for the Global Data Office as periodically required
Mentor Junior Global Data Office Team members
