" Basic understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
" Exposure to DCIM tools or ticketing systems.
" CompTIA Network+ or similar certification.
Preferred (Optional):
" Ability to lift and move equipment (up to typical DC standards, e.g., 40 50 lbs).
" Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow procedures.
" Experience with Visio or similar diagramming/documentation tools.
" Working knowledge of Cisco networking fundamentals (CLI basics, VLANs, connectivity checks).
" Familiarity with copper and fiber cabling standards and best practices.
" Basic understanding of data center operations and hardware installation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
" Follow operational procedures, safety guidelines, and change management processes.
" Perform hardware replacements (break/fix) and assist with troubleshooting physical layer issues.
" Assist with power distribution (PDUs), cable management, and ensuring adherence to data center standards and best practices.
" Maintain accurate documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio for rack elevations, cabling diagrams, and floor layouts.
" Support basic network device provisioning and connectivity, including entry-level Cisco switch configuration and troubleshooting.
" Perform structured cabling tasks, including installation, routing, labeling, and troubleshooting of copper (Cat5e/Cat6) and fiber optic cabling.
" Install, rack, and stack servers, network devices, and related hardware in data center cabinets.
