We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced <\/span><\/span><\/span>Senior
Database Architect & Modeler<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b> to join our team as we
migrate our insurance application to a cloud -based <\/span><\/span><\/span>Guidewire
platform<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>. This platform will support millions of users, and we need a
leader who can set database standards, ensure best practices, and support
scalability, maintainability, and performance across the system. This role is a
unique blend of Database Administration (DBA) and Data Modeler , requiring
expertise in both 3NF normalization and dimensional modeling. You will work
closely with software/data engineers to ensure consistency in database design
and implementation, troubleshoot performance issues, and support the migration
to production environments.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

Database
Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce database design
standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across the
platform.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Development
Support: Lead database -related aspects of the development in Guidewire
platform, ensuring high availability, low latency and scalability.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Performance
Optimization: Identify and resolve database performance issues, ensuring the
platform can handle millions of users.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Collaboration
with Engineers: Work closely with software/data engineers to ensure database
standards are adhered to during development and migration.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Data
Modeling: Design and implement 3NF normalization models and dimensional models.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Cloud
Database Expertise: Work with cloud -based databases such as Aurora PostgreSQL
and analytical platforms like Snowflake.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
Production
Support: Provide hands -on support during production outages, troubleshooting
issues, and ensuring system stability.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Experience:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i>
<\/p>
- 10+ years of experience in database architecture,
modeling, and administration.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Successfully led 3+ large -scale database projects,
covering the key responsibilities outlined above.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Extensive experience with 3NF normalization
(dozens of projects) and dimensional modeling (2+ projects).<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Hands -on experience with operational databases
like Aurora PostgreSQL and analytical databases like Snowflake.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Proven track record of working with large
engineering teams in a fast -paced environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
Technical Skills:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i>
<\/p>
- Strong knowledge of relational databases,
cloud -based databases, and data modeling concepts.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Familiarity with ETL development and data
integration processes.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Experience working with modeling tools like Erwin<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Experience working with database monitoring tools like
Datadog.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/p>
- Experience with SaaS platforms like Guidewire
platform is a plus<\/span><\/span><\/span>

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps<\/span>
<\/span> - Familiarity with metadata management tools<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>
- Familiarity with event streaming platforms like Kafka.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

- Familiarity with modeling for structured and semi -structured
data.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) or
database technologies.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
