    Our Loyalty Strategy & Performance team is a future-looking, innovation-forward and agile team where digital experiences and general management intersect.     The Loyalty Strategy Analyst role will help us understand and optimize the loyalty program strategy and define what's next to drive deeper customer engagement. This role will focus on strategy's key objectives and needs while building relationships spanning business owners, marketing, technology, and other cross-functional partners to deliver compelling and lasting business impact and superior customer experiences.

    As a Loyalty Strategy data analyst, you will…

    • Explore owned, syndicated and behavioral data for customer insights, trends and business opportunities, directly support our near and long term roadmap and business goals with data-driven insights.
    • Analyze business performance, looking at past performance and defining future-looking KPIs, methodologies that help drive lifetime value and richer brand engagement.
    • Proactively identify and propose analytics tools and solutions that increase efficiency, speed to insight, and speed to product feature development.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in thinking through complex and ambiguous issues: identify and define key issues, develop hypotheses, and design required analyses
    • Conduct inquiry-driven data discovery, design analytical frameworks and define metrics to answer hypotheses, manage dashboard and data product enhancements
    • Craft stories for senior management and leadership - support quarterly business performance summary and analysis, key projects, explorations and inquiries

    We'd love to hear from people with:

    • Strong analytical capabilities and experience
    • Financial acumen
    • Ability to navigate and synthesize multiple data sources, business context, draw insights, build logical and compelling storylines, and define recommendations
    • Ability to simplify and structure complex and ambiguous problems
    • Ability to present complicated material in a concise and effective way
    • Tenacious curiosity: ability to provide thought leadership and contribute continuously to the collective knowledge of the team
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with cross-functional partners
    • Business analysis, data analysis and modeling (4+ years)
    • Experience managing and analyzing business performance (4+ years)
    • Demonstrated project ownership and cross-functional leadership (2+ years)
    • Developing and delivering presentations to executive level audiences (2+ years)
    • Proficiency or better using complex databases (e.g. Tableau), manipulating data, building and assessing models
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • MBA, decision science or other quantitative degree/background preferred
    • Nice to have: Basic understanding data modeling, SQL, experience building dashboards

    The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.     About Company

    Every day, we go to work hoping to do two things: share great coffee with our friends and help make the world a little better. It was true when the first Starbucks opened in 1971, and it’s just as true today.

    Back then, the company was a single store in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market. From just a narrow storefront, Starbucks offered some of the world’s finest fresh-roasted whole bean coffees. The name, inspired by Moby Dick, evoked the romance of the high seas and the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders.

    In 1981, Howard Schultz (Starbucks chairman and chief executive officer) had first walked into a Starbucks store. From his first cup of Sumatra, Howard was drawn into Starbucks and joined a year later.

    In 1983, Howard traveled to Italy and became captivated with Italian coffee bars and the romance of the coffee experience. He had a vision to bring the Italian coffeehouse tradition back to the United States. A place for conversation and a sense of community. A third place between work and home. He left Starbucks for a short period of time to start his own Il Giornale coffeehouses and returned in August 1987 to purchase Starbucks with the help of local investors.
