Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Engineer to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and dashboard modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for collecting, validating, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable business insights through advanced reporting, scorecards, dashboards, and automated analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong Power BI, SQL, and Excel expertise and experience building executive-level reporting, KPI scorecards, and data visualizations. This position plays a key role in supporting leadership decision-making through analytics, automation, and reporting enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, validate, cleanse, and report on business and operational data
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visualizations
  • Build automated reporting solutions to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy
  • Extract and analyze data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and enterprise systems
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain:
    • ETL processes
    • SQL queries
    • Stored procedures
    • Reporting datasets
  • Support reporting modernization efforts and data platform initiatives
  • Create executive-level KPI scorecards, trend reporting, and performance dashboards
  • Consolidate data for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting needs
  • Respond to leadership requests for reporting, analytics, and business insights
  • Identify trends, performance drivers, and opportunities through data analysis
  • Validate reporting outputs and maintain data integrity across reporting solutions
  • Document reporting requirements, logic, processes, and data definitions
  • Collaborate with business partners and leadership teams to improve reporting effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong experience with:
    • SQL
    • Relational databases
    • Data extraction and reporting
    • Data validation and cleansing
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI metrics
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with complex datasets from multiple sources
  • Experience creating automated reporting processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain data insights and reporting results to business stakeholders

  • Power BI development experience
  • Databricks experience
  • Experience supporting Lakehouse or modern data platform initiatives
  • Experience creating interactive dashboards and executive scorecards
  • Utility industry experience
