Customs Trade Compliance Specialist

Research, analyze, and assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) classifications for imported products, equipment, materials, components, and spare parts. Gather and evaluate technical product information from engineering drawings, specifications, product literature, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. 

Apply classification methodologies using:

·       Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS)

·       General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs)

·       CBP CROSS rulings

·       Explanatory Notes

·       Relevant customs regulations and legal authorities.

Develop and maintain detailed classification justifications to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with Customs Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Business Units to obtain required information and resolve classification questions. Review and monitor classification requests to ensure timely and accurate completion. Support customs audits, internal reviews, customs inquiries, and binding ruling activities. Conduct classification quality reviews and consistency checks across systems and processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, training efforts, and classification governance programs. Support annual tariff updates, classification revalidations, and classification data maintenance activities.
