Reports to: Profit Center Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Basic computer skills

  • Excellent attendance record

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials throughout the warehouse, including, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and moving materials weighing up to 70 pounds.

  • Ability to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts, in the manner necessary to move materials and consistent with manufacturers' instructions and safety instructions.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including the ability to perform physical requirements, adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations, and inclement weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of customer service or sales experience

  • Microsoft Office Excel experience

  • Microsoft Outlook experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures

  • Knowledge of processes for receiving, selecting, packing, and shipping

Working Conditions:

Office and warehouse environment. May be some exposure to dust, heat or cold, and other seasonal changes. On-site at manufacturing facilities and industrial construction job sites delivering material and performing VMI activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support and back up inside sales reps with various tasks including customer requests & quotations, sales, and ordering, and creating sales registers

  • Work with management to determine customer-pricing structure.

  • Unload delivery vehicles and receive materials, accurately identifying and storing material, breaking down material, and noting discrepancies per CED processes.

  • Measure, cut, and spool wire materials.

  • Prepare outbound shipments including assembling orders, creating shipping documents, and confirming deliveries.

  • Gather assembled orders from carts and verify quantities and descriptions. Count and

  • write total quantity of merchandise being shipped on the invoice.

  • Pack each order into a container and arrange the container onto a shelf according to truck route.

  • Make deliveries as needed by operating a light van or flatbed delivery truck to deliver customer orders, meeting customer expectations.

  • Build relationships with customers you work with to gain additional business insights.

  • Restock on-site inventories (VMI) at customers, look for additional crib items to add to VMI program, identify additional sales opportunities, and make changes to quantities and products based on customer discussions and feedback.

  • Use phone/tablet based VMI applications to track and reorder customer inventory.

  • Prepare a receiving report if none is available.

  • Load common carrier and company vehicles.

  • Process UPS shipments including: verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct UPS postage tape, following customer shipping instructions and insuring the shipment when necessary.

  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as daily cycle counts.

  • Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner

  • consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers' instructions.

  • Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state; follow all company safety procedures; perform daily safety inspections.
