Job Description

We are recruiting for a Customer Service Representative to join a rapidly growing healthcare organization in Sacramento. This is a contract opportunity (6 months). The Customer Service Representative provides first point of contact customer service for patient inquiries regarding appointments, medication refills, referrals, and eligibility.

Pay: $20-$21/hour DOE

Schedule: Onsite M-F, 8am-5pm (Hybrid after training and probationary period)

The qualified candidate will have a minimum of one year experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare call center, strong technical skills, and excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as first point of contact for incoming customer inquiries and requests by email, phone, and web portal channels.
  • Takes messages and routes calls as is appropriate.
  • Understands the organization and helps navigate patients through the processes.
  • Determines client and patient eligibility.
  • Facilitates new patient registration, schedules patient appointments, and follows up with reminders for upcoming appointments.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a medical front receptionist or healthcare call center setting is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to repetitively answer a high volume of daily phone calls.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Computer literacy, including Word and Excel; database software and EHR experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and computer systems.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
